In an earlier post, I wrote about the colorful goodness that is the rainbow sprinkle. Rainbow sprinkles enhance the beauty and flavor of any dessert or treat: donuts, frozen yogurts, milkshakes (my favorite flavor is peppermint), birthday cakes, and . . . cookies.
Tonight, I went to an Italian deli in Anaheim to get some sandwich fixings, meatballs, sauce, and pasta. They’re an awesome market and I’ve been going there for years. They recently remodeled, and now there is an enticing dessert case near the front where I get bread and pay for my purchases. What was on display? I’m sure the dessert cannolis were delicious. But there was only one thing that caught my eye βΒ melt-in-one’s-mouth sugar cookies topped with rainbow sprinkles!
Here’s a picture:
Yummy! Of course I had some after my dinner as a treat. I think I’ll go have another now. Happy Friday!
Wow. Those cookies look good. Have you ever tried the Publix cookies? They are so good. I’m sure that those are great, too. What are your other favorite cookies? My favorite have to be sugar cookies. Well, bye for now! Visit my blog at http://www.rainacysblog.edublogs.org.

Hi there,
Thanks for visiting my blog today! π
We don’t have a Publix here in Southern California. I get these at the local Italian market. They are kinda of a specialty cookie. I haven’t seen anything like them in our local grocery store.
I, too, like sugar cookies. I make them from scratch about once a year at Christmas. I make the dough from scratch, refrigerate it overnight, roll it out, and use cookie cutters for the cut-out shapes. I also make up the frosting from scratch and then we decorate them after they are baked. It is sort of our Christmas Eve tradition. (I bake the day before Christmas Eve, and then we decorate them on Christmas Eve.) It is a long and involved process, though, to make them. They’re kinda a hassle, I’m not gonna lie! π
So . . . as my back up, I love to eat (and make) chocolate chip cookies. Mine are delicious, if I could brag. Once again, I think the trick is to refrigerate the dough overnight before baking. I’ve been making this particular recipe for years. Once, for fun in my calculus class in high school, we had a chocolate chip cookie baking contest, and mine were voted by the class as the best. π
I’m a better baker than cook. At least, I prefer making treats to making dinner!
Is the deli called Claro’s? I always get a sample of those cookies from the lady at the counter!- Caroline
